The mission is to collaborate with universities, institutions, individuals etc. interested into areas of our expertise by providing guidance, resources and facilities for fostering research. Ismilda will create new avenues in the field of research by establishing collaborative links. It will endeavour to create a new perspective in higher education and research for Indian as well as foreign institutions and scholars.

To provide global vision to Indian researchers and foster Indian vision in foreign researchers by attracting them for comparative research into each others systems and cultures. In a special way it will accelerate a research hub based in Goa. It will also collaborate with universities of countries with civil law traditions such as Angola, Mozambique, Guine Bisau, S. Tome and Principe, Macau, Timor, Portugal and Brazil, with which Goa shared some common historical heritage. It will try to attract students from above mentioned countries to Goa for comparative research. It will endeavour to attract students from rest of India to undertake research on resources available in Goa.

Following are the objectives of the Ismilda Research Consultancy:

  1. Expose institutions and researchers to the field of our specialization.
  2. Provide assistance, guidance etc. to institutions and scholars involved in research.
  3. Expose Indian Researchers to the civil law system.
  4. Motivate comparative research between civil law and common law traditions.
  5. Expose foreign researchers from civil law countries to research into common law system in general and Indian jurisprudence in particular.
  6. Encourage research into Goa’s legal experiences with the civil law system and later with the common law system through a transitional hybrid phase of the two systems, during the period of 1962-65.
  7. Encourage research in history, literature and culture of Goa.
  8. Encourage research into World Constitutionalism.
  9. Design short term courses such as certificate, post graduate diplomas, or special summer research oriented courses in areas of our specialization and to prepare study material for the same.
  10. Hold joint research projects, with other institutions of the world.
  11. Have arrangements with a number of institutions for Ph.D. programmes.
  12. To build up suitable data bank to facilitate research.
